INSPIRED Workshops
I also run workshops under the INSPIRED umbrella. Founded by Jasmine Keel, INSPIRED's mission is to become a learning and inspirational platform designed to support the personal and professional needs of expatriate accompanying spouses in Beijing. INSPIRED organises high-quality workshops, seminars and luncheons on the topics of "My Career", "My Inspiration", "My Self" and "My China". All INSPIRED events are conducted in English, in Beijing.
Upcoming INSPIRED workshops that I will be running are:
Reshaping Your Career: Friday 13th June 2008
In this intensive one-day workshop you will assess your work interests and strengths, identify the new direction you wish your career to take and begin work on a strategy to get you there. The day includes a session on the “hidden job market” and how to access it.
Who should attend:
Anyone with past work experience who is looking to make changes to their career path (whether minor adjustments or a more radical career transition). It does not matter whether or not you are currently working.
Content outline:
In the morning session you identify your top career values, interests, transferable skills and work style, drawing on proven techniques used by leading international consultants such as Richard Knowdell and Richard Bolles.
In the afternoon session you condense and prioritise the morning’s work, creating a one-sentence vision to describe your reshaped career. You then begin work on developing your strategy. The session includes tips on informational interviewing, networking and the hidden job market.
Detailed content outline:
1. Your career values
2. Your career needs
3. What are you passionate about?
4. Addressing common passion killers
5. Your favourite skills
6. Your career strengths
7. Other criteria for career satisfaction
8. Your career paths options
9. Your career vision
10. How will you get there?
11. Tools: networking, research, hidden job market
12. Setting goals
13. Keeping motivated
Take away benefits:
I. In depth understanding of your career values, interests, transferable skills and work style
II. A clear picture of the new direction you would like your career to take and a broad strategy for getting there
