How Coaching Works
Coaching works from the premise that we already have what it takes to get to where we want. Either we have the answers already (perhaps lurking somewhere deep down!), or with a bit of thought and planning we can figure out how to go about getting them.A coach can help facilitate your career change by:
- Asking thought-provoking questions that force you to examine your beliefs and motivations on a deeper level than you would if left to your own devices or chatting through your problem with friends
- Encouraging (sometimes challenging) you to take action – forcing you to take those necessary steps out of your comfort zone
- Providing an on-going structure. We all have good intentions but pushing past old ways of thinking and creating new habits is hard work. Regular sessions offer accountability and momentum to get you through the difficult first stages of any change
- Short-cutting any sticking points. Coaches are experts in what holds us back and are practised at helping people overcome the practical or psychological obstacles standing in their way
- Equipping you with useful tools and resources such as exercises, business, marketing or action plan templates, information rich websites, blogs and books.
